Currently used by many global standard Personal Trainers, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Podiatrists and more, Biomechanics Coaching is being taken worldwide as it's acclaim grows from strength to strength.
The biomechanics coaching model shown here involves a systematic level of understanding not usually understood by fitness or other professionals concerned with movement performance and injuries and it's before the common foundations of core stability, strength, general health and fitness. As you can see in the model there is a foundation base called normalize. Contained within this normalise level are the key factors that predispose a person to injury from intrinsic factors such as length length discrepency, pelvic function, spine mobility and muscle spasm.
Generally relating to previous injury, work stresses, growth/posture issues, sports and exercise history etc we can see that pelvic function, muscle spasm, nerve issues and immobility are the factors that must be addressed in order to obtain a normalised ability in movement and especially physical fitness training.
Within the first stage we start with a total body MOT as it were. Functions of the pelvis, spine, shoulders, knees and feet are assessed. Corrective exercise and general exercise prescription can then be tailored to addressing any issues while still adapting towards set goals in performance.
The further stages of the system follow with scientifically backed methods testing for and development of base standards of fitness. These are of: core stability, movement capacity, functionality and strength before progressions are incorporated in order to ensure that the exercise prescription is appropriate for the individual.
Very specific testing methods to study a persons intrinsic biomechanics for use in this method by trained biomechanics coaches have been developed and rigorously supported by scientific research and methods. More studies are being undertaken that consistently support the existing evidence that this system correlates highly with reduced chance of injury and increased potential for performance over and above other methods commonly used by other physical practitioners.
To start the process the starting price for a comprehensive screen of your pelvis, spine, shoulders, knees and feet is £100 with review after 1 to 2 weeks.
